Are you a big football fan, and are you excited for Euro 2024? Me too! This is my experience in the past week!
The football fever
Since I was a child, me and my family have watched football tournaments. We get around, have some snacks and some drinks, and comment on the game together, and it was so fun, especially when Portugal plays!
When I got to know that Euro 2024 was in Germany, I was thrilled! I was dreaming of going to a stadium and watching a game, that would be amazing!
And now you must be wondering… am I rooting for Portugal or for Germany? Well, of course my heart is in Portugal, but I am also rooting for Germany, I even got a scarf!
Unfortunately, I couldn’t get tickets for the group stage games, but I will keep trying to get some for the future games!
It’s always better to watch it with friends
I love watching football, but I also love watching it with my friends!
On the first day of the tournament, the first team to play was Germany against Scotland, so me and my friends decided to go to a Fan Zone in Frankfurt where they show the games. There are lots of projectors, food and drink stations, and guess what: A floating pitch on the river!!
To mention that the environment is amazing! It was so crowded and it was so nice to see so many people supporting Germany. We met different foreigners like us with Germany’s flag painted in the face, with scarfs, shirts, a full football fan kit!
And it was such an incredible day, I loved seeing the fans vibrating with exitement for every goal Germany scored (it was 5-1 for Germany, can you imagine the atmosphere that day?).
Portugal match
Besides watching Germany’s, I couldn’t miss the Portugal game in the fan zone as well. Not only because the projectors were really great, but also because I knew there would be some Portuguese people there, and I wanted to feel closer to home.
So, for the people who know me, they know I am a big football supporter, especially for my national team. I will stand with my team until the end of the world. Unfortunately, it was a very bad game for Portugal, although we won.
Apart from being a bad game, standing next to Portuguese people, singing the anthem with them, and having my friends support Portugal, made it an unforgettable experience, and I can’t wait to watch more games there!
The next matches
So the group stages are over, or almost over. Both Germany and Portugal have moved to the Round of 16. If you want to watch the games, you can check the calendar .
Also, there are multiple fan zones all around Germany, you can find that and more information
Have fun and enjoy the beautiful spirit of football in Germany!
