About Mandy
I am Truong Tran Anh Nhan, professionally known as Mandy. After over 10 years of dedication to the education sector, I am currently pursuing a Master’s in English and American Studies at Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg. I am a sustainability practitioner, cultural explorer, and passionate volunteer. I have volunteered with the Lean In Circles NGO for women’s leadership empowerment and the Climate Fresk NGO, a climate education organization.
In 2022, during my visit to Nami Island, I was amazed by how Korean families seamlessly enjoy their weekends without leaving anyone behind. Their impressive infrastructure ensures full access for all family members, including the disabled, newborns, and pets, allowing them to commute effortlessly between the mainland and the island. Vietnam is making strides toward diversity, equality, and inclusion through design, services, and overall improvements. As a Vietnamese citizen, I am proud to be part of this effort. Learning from advanced countries like Germany, which prioritize holistic education and human-centered approaches, can provide me with valuable lessons and eye-opening experiences.
I carry the dreams of my parents, who were born during the Vietnam War, to explore the world. The Master’s program in English and American Studies at the University of Bamberg opens many doors for me, starting with the „Study in Germany“ blogging initiative. It allows me to continue my passion for writing and to share my experiences of studying and living in Germany. On this journey, I hope to inspire other students to pursue their dreams, cultivate a lifelong learning mindset, and overcome the limiting belief that they are too old to learn. By following in your parents‘ footsteps and challenging your limits, you’ll be surprised by what you can achieve.
