My favourite activities during summer holidays as a student

Yay, summer holidays have begun!! But what can I do during this time? This question I have given myself many times. In this blog I would like to share with you some interesting ideas, which helped me personally to spend a great time during the holidays.

Rayhona loves to spend time her my friends outside. Sitting in a meadow with a picnic blanket, eating and talking - she really enjoys it!

1) The most favourite activity is to spend time with my friends outside. In Marburg I have friends from different countries. In summer we like to organize picnic and share with each other home – made food. There is nothing better than just to sit with friends, to eat delicious food, simply talk about the daily life and exchange ideas about living and studying in Germany.

Usually the summer in Germany is not so hot as in my home country. I really enjoy the sunny weather and love to eat ice-cream, especially strawberry ice-cream. It gives me the real feeling of the summer and happiness.

2) But if my friends fly away for a vocation and I have to stay in Marburg. I don`t feel myself lonely! I just take a bicycle and visit some villages nearby. It gives me a new experience and a nice feeling. I think that riding a bicycle is an incredible physical activity that fills the body with a lot of energy. Marburg features charming countryside and picturesque villages. That´s why I really enjoy the trip by bicycle here.

By the way, you can rent a bike from one of the common German bike sharing companies, you’ll find them in every bigger city 🙂

3) Mostly in summer I have time to visit new cities by train. To explore new places gives me an amazing feeling of freedom and a desire to gain new knowledge. The semester ticket of my university in Marburg is incredible because we can use trains not only to visit cities in the whole State of Hesse. We also can go from Marburg to Mainz and Heidelberg.

The cities, which I would really suggest you to visit in Hesse, besides Marburg, are Limburg, Wiesbaden and Wetzlar.

4) One of the reasons why I love to live and study in Marburg is its beauty. The river Lahn flows through the town. It is very nice just to sit near the river in summer or take a pedal boot. If you love being close to nature, a pedal boat allows you to enjoy the water and to capture beautiful pictures. In the city center there is a cozy café by the river.

The ambiance of the café by the river is peaceful and invits visitors to unwind and enjoy the serenity of the water and nature. You can take a refreshing drink and enjoy every moment.

5) Staying active in the summer not only benefits your physical health but also allows you to appreciate the joy of outdoor recreation. There are multiple sport activities, which you can try in summer.

One of my favourite activities are running and playing tennis. It is not only an excellent workout but also a fun and relaxing pastime.
