About Pilar
My name is Pilar and I am from the city of Recife, in Brazil. I have a BA in International Relations, a Post Graduate Diploma in Cultural Management, and an MA in Social Studies. I am currently a student working on my PhD in Social Science at Waterford Institute of Technology, in Ireland, and my PhD research focuses on the topic of migrants and non-standard work. As part of my PhD, I am also a Research Fellow of the Moral Foundations of Economy and Society Research Centre, in Ireland. I have recently been selected to participate in the Berlin Summer School in Social Sciences, which will take place at Humboldt University and WZB Berlin Social Science Center in July 2018. This will be my very first time in Germany and I am eager to share my experiences from my first visit to the country, as well as from the summer school, in the Study in Germany blog!
