Target group
Medical Informatics is the interdisciplinary science of systematically developing, managing, storing, processing and providing data, information and knowledge in medicine and healthcare. The MSc course in in Medical Informatics teaches the basic principles, concepts and methods of computer science and, moreover, human medicine and natural sciences. In close collaboration with the medical profession, the degree programme enables students to work in various fields of application, under appropriate technical, economic and social conditions, utilising the means of computer science, to develop appropriate systems and to manage projects. Depending on the choice of modules, it is possible to complete the entire course in English. Computer Science in Tübingen is one of the most research-intensive in Germany and is internationally known. It maintains close partnerships with major business enterprises and research institutes (e.g. three Max Planck Institutes in Tübingen) at the national and international levels. It is distinguished by the interdisciplinary cooperation with medicine, biology, psychology, media science and many other disciplines at the University of Tübingen.
