Target group

The development, production and application of drugs is a research and economic field that is subject to increasing interdisciplinarity. At the same time, the requirements in the individual subjects are constantly increasing as a result of advances in know-how. Graduates of the Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies have exactly the interdisciplinary skills required. Thanks to in-depth training in the pharmaceutical core areas chosen by the students, you will acquire extensive, specialist knowledge. These include, for example, in-depth competences in the areas of lead structure establishment and development based on modern chemical methods. These can also be supplemented by in-depth knowledge of bio-/ cheminformatics, bioanalytics, molecular biology, biochemistry or biophysics. Modern target identification will also be part of the spectrum of methods, as well as experiences in the field of biopharmaceutical core processes or regulatory requirements. In addition, graduates are able to meet the requirements for career advancement in these areas much better by having advanced knowledge in the field of drug development and production. The flexible design of the course allows for a high degree of interdisciplinarity also within the field of Pharmacy. As a result of the flexibility and open design of the course, graduates will have an opportunity to acquire an individual portfolio of additional skills and knowledge that are crucial to their future career prospects. By selecting modules from subjects outside of Pharmacy, e.g. from the field of computer science (for production), molecular biology (for drug development) or psychology (for marketing or use on patients), major additional skills can be acquired for work in the pharmaceutical industry. The Pharmaceutical Institute of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen is the largest in Baden-Württemberg: more than 700 students are currently enrolled here. They are supervised by nine professors, three junior professors and more than 60 academic staff.
