Admission requirements
10-week internship The internship must encompass the following activities: - Insight into the areas of responsibility of social work and social education\; Specialising acquaintance with at least one field of work. - Familiarisation with the organisation and function of the internship facility Familiarisation with the tools and methods of the work by taking on small sub-tasks from the practice field, this should also include administrative tasks - Participation in briefings and work meetings of the placement facility. The placement can be completed in all youth, social and health support institutions, church organisations and non-school education organisations as long is it is ensured that the main work is in the area of social work. - Relevant training and professional employment (also periods of military service or alternative civil service) will be credited as practical course work. Completed placements that were necessary to obtain the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences will also be counted towards the special enrolment requirements if they were completed in the described areas. The pre-study work placement will no longer be required if this degree course is commenced in the winter semester 2021/22. The awarding of study places for the Bachelor's degree course Social Work / Theory of Social Education at the Hochschule Düsseldorf takes place within the scope of the Dialogue-oriented Service Process of the Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung (Foundation for University Admission) (hochschulstart.de).
