For unrestricted admission to or enrolment on all degree courses, the applicant must prove the language ability required for study. Further details are governed by the current version of the German language proficiency test for access to higher education at the University of Paderborn. 3. \ t meets the further admission requirements of the subject-specific provisions. In addition to the admission requirements set out in Section 8 of the General Provisions, knowledge of English and French at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required for the study of history as part of the dual-subject Bachelor. English proficiency can be demonstrated, in particular, by means of a Baccalaureate certificate at which level B2 is indicated or through TOEFL (internet-based, 87 points) , IELTS (5.5), Cambridge ESOL (FCE) or Unicert II. In particular, the French language skills can be demonstrated by a Baccalaureate certificate, which indicates B2 level or the DELF B2 (niveau indépendant) certificate. French can be replaced on application by another foreign language relevant to the study of History at the University of Paderborn. If the Bachelor’s thesis is written on the subject of history, knowledge of Latin must be proven. The evidence is to be provided in the form of the Latinum (Latin language examination). Proof of foreign language skills should be provided prior to enrolment (recommended). However, the required language skills must be proven to the study programme administrator by the time of registration for the advanced modules and are required for participation in the advanced modules. Knowledge of Latin has to be proven once more for the Bachelor’s thesis on the subject of History and is a prerequisite for admission to the Bachelor’s Thesis in History.
