In this context, the degree course Diaconic Studies teaches theological and subject-specific competences. It promotes the ability to relate them to each other and apply them in different areas of the practice of the church and social welfare work in an academically reflective way. It supports personality development and professional action. It serves the communication of the Gospel in a culturally and religiously diverse society.
