The Saar-Lor-Lux degree course in Physics was created by the universities of Nancy, Saarbrücken and Luxembourg. The students study consecutively in three different countries. The study programme is optimally coordinated and covers all areas of Physics, ensuring that no time is waste with repeated study content. The Saar-Lor-Lux Bachelor degree course (or for short: SLLS-B) begins for all students, i.e. also students from Germany and Luxembourg, at the Université Henri Poincaré in Nancy. In the second year the students change to the Université Luxembourg, where the foundations from the first year will be studied in greater depth and at the same time they will be introduced to the 'modern physics' of the 20th century. The third and final year of the Bachelor's degree course is spent at the Universität des Saarlandes in Saarbrücken, where students will attend advanced lectures in experimental physics and theoretical physics. There the students also complete a six-week Bachelor's dissertation, for which a special seminar will also be conducted. All required examinations are clearly specified and will be mutually recognised. At the end of the Bachelor's degree course, the students receive a trinational certificate containing the degree awards of the individual universities. The SLLS-B can be continued as a binational Master's degree course (in Saarbrücken and Nancy). Further information is available under 'Physics Saar-Lor-Lux degree course (Master)'.
