General objectives of the degree course The focus of the degree course is on aesthetic practice, which develops and reflects on both artistic and creative ways of working, perception and thinking. Building on and referring to the abilities of one's own artistic and creative actions on the one hand and to art scientific knowledge and methods on the other hand, possibilities of art didactic thinking and acting are developed. Tips for art studies In order to study art, you must pass the artistic aptitude test in advance. The application period for the aptitude test is the 30.04. of each year. Further information can be found on the website of the art school (teaching qualification art). The events for the subject of art generally take place at the Kunsthochschule Kassel (Menzelstraße 13-15). Students who have chosen the art for the teaching qualification at grammar schools must clarify at the beginning of their degree course whether the second subject should be studied at the level of "secondary and comprehensive school" or whether the teaching qualification for the grammar school qualification should also be obtained here. In this case, an extension of the period of study is to be expected. The corresponding form and further information can be found in the introductory event or in the secretariat at the art school.
