Annotation

How do you convey German to learners whose native language is not German? What role can smartphones, apps and other media play in language teaching? The demand for teachers for "German as a Foreign or Second Language" (DaFZ) is still high, so the corresponding Kassel Master's degree programme offers holders of a Bachelor's degree in German Studies or in a related subject good opportunities to shape their career. One of the foundations of the subject is psycholinguistics, which deals with the complex conditions for speaking and understanding language. In addition to this basic module, the students deal with methods and planning principles for DaFZ lessons. In the four-semester Master's programme, they deal in detail with language didactics and also train their didactic skills in a required internship. At the centre of the training are scientific theories and the practice of foreign or second-language German lessons as well as their empirical research. If you love internationality and are interested in language, literature, cultural mediation and media didactics, you will have the necessary motivation for the Master's degree programme in "German as a Foreign or Second Language". Part-time study is quite possible due to the course of study in this degree course. Upon request, you can register for part-time studies in accordance with Section 19 (2) Hesse Higher Education Act (HessHG). The specific provisions for part-time studies will then apply. Counselling by the subject-specific student advice service is recommended.
