Target group
Target groups for the Eastern European Studies course are: Graduates with above-average qualifications in one of the subject areas belonging to the Eastern European Studies MA (minimum degree Bachelor of Arts) German and foreign students with study, professional and research interests relating to Eastern Europe; Students who are looking for an interdisciplinary, theory- and empiricism-driven course in a research-intensive and international environment; Young of academics who already have several years' professional experience and, by participating in the study programme, want to acquire academically well-founded expertise regarding Eastern Europe or theoretically and methodically consolidate their existing cultural experiences and knowledge.
Annotation
A semester abroad (usually the last semester) at an Eastern European partner university is strongly recommended.
Admission requirements
Admission requirements for the master's degree course in Eastern European Studies are: a) Proof of a degree awarded from a course of studies lasting at least 3 years at a university or a state-run or state-recognised vocational academy in a discipline belonging to the MA in Eastern European Studies (Minimum degree Bachelor of Arts [BA] or equivalent academic degree) with a minimum grade of 'good', or, if the BA degree has not yet been awarded, a certificate detailing the credits achieved that are relevant for the final grade. b) Proof of good command of a slavic language at Level B2 of the European framework of reference, c) CV with letter of motivation and 2 references from members of university teaching staff.
