Annotation
The students of the Master’s course in Biochemistry at the Philipps-Universität Marburg should build on their broad and well-founded scientific training in a Bachelor’s degree, in particular to further develop and deepen their research skills so that they are theoretically and practically able to experimentally carry out their own research project as part of a doctoral thesis to plan, implement and document on a scientific level. In the Master's programme, there is the possibility of a very individual profile in the field of Biochemistry, with the possibility of occupying chemical and related, non-Biochemical fields.
Admission requirements
General admission requirements for the Master’s degree are proof of completion of a relevant Bachelor’s degree in the fields of “Chemistry”, “Biology”, “Biochemistry” or “Biotechnology”, or proof of a comparable domestic or foreign professional qualification. In addition, basic knowledge is comparable to the module "Biochemistry I Lecture" on structure and reactivity in Biochemistry in the amount of 6 CP and the module "Biochemistry I internship" in the scope of 6 CP included in the Bachelor's degree course "Chemistry" at the Philipps University of Marburg. A university degree comparable to the BSc Chemistry is particularly available for applicants with a second state examination in pharmacy.
