Major subject in combination Bachelor's degree course - only possible in combination with one or two minor subjects Standard period of study: 6 or 8 semesters (depending on combination) Further information on the structure of the combination Bachelor's degree course can be found here: In the major subject sub-course "Celtology" you will learn the Celtic languages Old Irish and Middle Welsh, which originated over a thousand years ago and - at least as far as Welsh is concerned - are still spoken in parts of Great Britain today. As your studies progress, these language skills will enable you to understand and analyse original medieval texts from these cultural areas and to place them in their literary-historical and cultural contexts.
