You will be given the opportunity to become highly qualified both linguistically and culturally and to develop expertise in the interpretation and discussion of, for example, art and media and social topics. You will learn or deepen the language skills necessary to move confidently in the French-speaking world, even if you start with no previous knowledge. You will acquire a specialisation in the area of cultural transfer and translation. In this way, you will develop a critical understanding of intercultural action and become sensitive to your own and other languages. The study programme in the major subject differs from the minor subject in particular in that language skills are further expanded in the major subject sub-course, specialist knowledge of language, literature and culture is deepened and critical examination of subject-specific issues is promoted more intensively.
