Annotation
Minor subject in the combination Bachelor's degree course - only possible in combination with a major subject Standard period of study: 6 or 8 semesters (depending on combination) The degree depends on the major subject chosen. Further information on the structure of the combination Bachelor's degree course can be found here: Even Goethe's Dr Faust wanted to know "what holds the world together at its core". These questions are answered in the minor subject of Geology. In addition to acquiring basic geological knowledge about the Earth system, you can learn to identify rocks, study the dynamics of groundwater and deal with invertebrate fossils from the last 550 million years. The knowledge gained during your course enables you to assess current issues from the context of environmental and nature conservation (e.g. climate change, biodiversity) from a geoscientific perspective and to analyse them in scientific terms. An integral part of the degree course is the MarSkills programme, in which you acquire attractive and future-oriented key skills (see ).
