Annotation
Anyone who studies Protestant Theology in Marburg enjoys the advantages of a full university in a university town steeped in tradition. At the Department of Protestant Theology, students benefit from excellent individual support in teaching and a broad spectrum in research. The course is aimed at everyone who is scientifically interested in the understanding and constructive design of individual life with the importance of a Christian-religious perspective and who is keen to work together to address current social challenges across disciplines. In the Theology degree course you develop the ability to develop religious texts for today's thinking and acting against the background of biblical tradition and theological thinking in the past and present. The course qualifies to form a well-informed, critical and constructive judgement about the reason and origin, meaning and consequences of the Christian religion. You will discover how this judgement is interdisciplinary, that is, in the context of other sciences (from Philosophy to Art to Bioethics and so on) and taking account of church and social fields of action.
