Annotation
The aim of the course is to acquire a scientifically qualified degree that enables the independent application and development of scientific methods and leads to a sound knowledge in the field of Romance Literature, Language and Cultural Studies. The course promotes independent, critically reflected handling of theories, discourses and methods, as well as the development of scientifically based approaches to interpretation. Vocational oriented practice parts as well as structured self-study support independence in the development of your own research projects with simultaneous early involvement in practical work. As a shortened (one-year) follow-up Master, the course focuses on the in-depth and specialised professionalisation of the training goals of the four-year B.A. Romance Cultures: It systematically guides the students to independently analyse, reflect and practice comparison, translation and cultural transfer across cultural areas within the Romance-speaking world and its global contexts on a scientific level. The foreign language competence in a Romance language is perfected. The graduates of this Master's degree course therefore have very good knowledge of one or more Romance languages, both spoken and written, and solid knowledge of the Romance-speaking cultures in the sense of a thorough academic education in the field of Romance Studies. In addition to subject-specific knowledge and skills, key qualifications and practical work skills are imparted and expanded. With regard to professional orientation, it is possible to set individual priorities. On the one hand, the options for teaching internships and research internships are offered to promote young academics, and on the other hand there is the possibility of integrating an external internship with a view to non-university professional fields.
