Joint degree programme of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Cultural Studies The Bachelor´s degree course in Law and Politics / Politics and Law provides an introduction to the legal and political structures of modern states and societies, as well as of international organisations, such as the European Union, and international law. It combines legal and political sciences as well as cultural sciences and social sciences in particular. The degree programme teaches the principles of German, European and international law. This involves analysis of European Union policies, understanding the creation and functioning of democracy and studying key conflicts in international politics. The primary objective of the education and training is the acquisition of suitable methods that enable you to identify, formulate and academically process relevant legal, political and cultural studies issues and problems. This degree programme is offered in two study variants. In the course variant Law and Politics, the focus is on legal content, while in the course variant Politics and Law, the focus is on political and social science content.
