Target group

Students who are interested in learning about the complex problems of transition countries as well as developing approaches to overcoming these problems by linking economic, political and environmental aspects. Target group of the course are primarily graduates from transition countries.

Annotation

Transition countries are characterized by enormous economic and political transformations. Their societies are changing from a state-directed economy to a market economy, from autocracy to democracy. The Programme will enable students: - to understand complex processes and specific demands of transition countries - to link the various areas of transition, i.e., economic, political, social, agricultural, and environmental aspects - to gain knowledge as well as practical competences on methods and strategies to enhance the transition process - to train their soft skills by learning and working in international and interdisciplinary teams.

Admission requirements

The admission requirements are: • A bachelor‘s degree with at least 180 ECTS credits in agriculture, nutrition, natural or environmental sciences, economics, or political science. • Proof of English language proficiency: 1. either: TOEFL-Test ITB (internet-based test) with at least 95 points or IELTS-Test with at least grade of 7 in the academic test; 2. or: Proof of obtaining a local higher education entrance qualification in one of the following countries: Australia, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, USA, United Kingdom, South Africa; 3. or: Proof of a Bachelor’s degree in English in one of the following countries: Australia, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, USA, United Kingdom, South Africa; 4. or: Proof of the UNIcert III certificate.
